The Path of the Refugee

The film follows the journeys of trans and non-binary refugee artists as well as other LGBTIQ+ activists living in Switzerland. Through art, performance, and personal narratives, Rêya Penaber explores the realities of exile and structural violence, as well as the forms of resistance and solidarity emerging within LGBTIQ+ refugee communities in Switzerland. Blending memory, creativity, and collective rituals, the film creates a space of visibility and dignity for voices that are often rendered invisible, while questioning borders, identity, and the quest for freedom.
